embodied healing, empowered living
Your body is an intricate map, guiding you to where needs love, where needs support, where needs release.
Embracing somatic healing work is becoming an explorer of your own internal map. A curious detective to the story it holds.
The core of somatics lies in fostering greater embodiment, which can lead to improved self-awareness, balance, and an integrated sense of well-being.
WHAT IS SOMATICs?
Somatics is a mind-body approach that helps you increase body awareness and deepen your relationship with self. Somatics aims to heal the psychosomatic split and build a deeper awareness of the body’s senses and sensations in connection with emotions. Rooted in practices that blend movement, mindfulness and self awareness, somatics aims to help individuals become more attuned to their physical experiences and how they relate to mental and emotional states.
The term comes from the Greek work soma, meaning “body” and it typically refers to the body as experienced from within.
Common Applications of Somatics:
1. Therapeutic Use: For managing stress, trauma, and chronic pain by reconnecting with the body.
2. Movement Education: Redefining movement for better alignment and function.
3. Mental Health Support: Trauma-informed somatic therapies help people process emotions stored in the body.
4. Self Expression: Using somatic practices to deepen physical awareness, creativity, connection with nature & community.
