TRAUMA THERAPY
Somatic trauma therapy uses the idea that the body remembers it all. That whatever we have experienced in life, our body remembers. This isn't a new concept, indigenous communities around the world have lived by the idea that the body stores events & memories for generations. It is only in the western world where the mind was perceived as an entirely different entity to the body and thus the main focus for all Therapeutic techniques.
Somatic Trauma Therapy differs from other forms of talk therapy as it uses the language of the body to release trapped energy, emotion, memory & trauma. The journey is focused on guiding the client into the body and building a deeper body awareness, reflecting on how it responds through physical sensations.
It is through a combination of creating an extremely safe environment so the client can feel into the sensations and the use of somatic exercises such as body scanning, pushing, Breathwork, Myofasical Release & slow repetitive movements that trauma, PTSD, emotions, memories & pain can be released.
Benefits of Somatic Trauma Therapy:
• Reduces symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety & many other emotional & physical pain.
• Helps release trauma stored in the body, leading to greater physical and emotional freedom.
• Improves the ability to regulate emotions and cope with stress.
• Restores a sense of safety, connection, and empowerment.
• Builds resilience and a deeper connection to oneself.
Somatic trauma therapy is particularly effective for individuals who feel “stuck” in traditional talk therapy or who experience trauma-related physical symptoms. It provides a holistic, compassionate path to healing by addressing trauma at its roots—both in the mind and the body.
SOMATIC
LIFE COACHING
Somatic life coaching is a holistic approach to personal development and goal achievement that integrates the body (soma) into the coaching process. Unlike traditional life coaching, which often focuses on mindset, strategies, and external actions, somatic life coaching recognizes that the body holds patterns, emotions, and wisdom that influence a person’s behaviours, decisions, and overall well-being. By working with the body as well as the mind, clients can access deeper transformation and sustainable change.
Benefits of Somatic Life Coaching:
• Improved self-awareness and emotional resilience.
• Release of old patterns and limiting beliefs held in the body.
• Greater sense of empowerment and confidence.
• Enhanced ability to manage stress and make aligned decisions.
• Deeper connection to intuition and authentic desires
This approach is especially helpful for individuals seeking not only to achieve external goals but also to heal, grow, and develop a stronger sense of connection to themselves.
SOMATIC
movement
Somatic movement is a type of mindful, body-centered movement practice that focuses on increasing awareness of the body’s sensations, patterns, and habits from the inside out. It is not about performing external exercises for fitness or aesthetics but about fostering a deeper connection to the body, improving physical alignment, releasing tension, and enhancing overall well-being.
Benefits of Somatic Movement:
• Relief from Chronic Pain and Tension: Helps identify & release habitual holding patterns in the body.
• Improved Mobility and Alignment: Enhances balance, coordination, and range of motion.
• Stress Reduction: Calms the nervous system by promoting relaxation and mindfulness.
• Healing and Emotional Integration: Supports release of emotions and trauma stored in the body.
• Enhanced Self-Awareness: Deepens understanding of how the body and mind influence each other.
Somatic movement is accessible to people of all ages and abilities and can be practiced individually or in group settings.

FAQ
-
Somatic trauma therapy and talk therapy differ in their focus and methods. Somatic trauma therapy emphasizes the connection between mind and body, using techniques like body awareness, mindful breathing, and movement to release trauma stored in the body and regulate the nervous system. It’s especially helpful for those experiencing physical symptoms like tension, hyperarousal, or dissociation. Talk therapy, on the other hand, focuses on verbal communication to process thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, employing methods like cognitive restructuring and problem-solving. While talk therapy is ideal for understanding and reframing traumatic experiences cognitively, somatic approaches address the physiological effects of trauma. Many people benefit from a combination of both for holistic healing.
